Springdale, Texas, is a town that began as a farm. It was called North Fork, but the name was changed to Springdale in 1881 when it became an established railroad stop. Springdale is home to many nationally known businesses, including Cedar Hill National Bank, Frito-Lay, Hanesbrands Inc., JCPenney, and Quest Diagnostics Incorporated, all of which have their headquarters within the city limits.
