Malmö Major Attractions

  • Turning Torso: Perhaps the most iconic building in Malmö is Turning Torso. This twisting skyscraper was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and has become an important symbol of modern architecture in Sweden.
  • Malmöhus Castle: The city’s oldest surviving building, this castle dates back to 1542 and now houses museums, including an aquarium and zoo.
  • Malmo Museum: This museum has an extensive collection of paintings from the 19th century and contemporary art pieces.
  • Øresund Bridge: This bridge, which links Malmö with Copenhagen in Denmark, is a major symbol of cooperation between the two countries. It’s also a great way to get from one city to the other – the journey only takes about 15 minutes!

  • Malmö City Library: This library is a great place to visit if you’re looking for something fun and free in Malmö. It’s one of the most beautiful buildings in town, with its red brick facade reminiscent of old English libraries like Cambridge University Library or Oxford’s Bodleian Library. The inside is just as impressive too!
  • Malmö Konsthall: The art gallery of Malmö, this place is great if you’re looking for something free to do. There are some modern pieces on display here, and it’s a good way to get out of the cold during the winter months!
