The city of Charlotte was named after the wife of England’s King George the III. It is the 25th largest city in the United States. Historic architecture and sports (NFL, NASCAR, NBA) are what Charlotte is known for today.

Here are some spots to visit while in Charlotte, North Carolina.

NASCAR Hall of Fame

This spot honors the most excellent drivers, crews, and many more involved in NASCAR. This is a chance to walk down memory lane and relive the great people who made NASCAR popular and famous today. Explore exhibits, the gear shop, Pit Shop Cafe and Champ the CHeetah.

Discovery Place Science

Discovery Place Science is a hands-on science and technology museum with an IMAX theater. The IMAX is the largest theater in the state. There are sizable exhibits like the two-story rain forest and space labs that could keep you busy with fun all day. More examples are space for traveling, aquariums, and live animal exhibits.

Whitewater Center

Deepwater solo is one attraction. You can climb one of several walls from 25 feet to 40 feet high. There is a large 20-foot-deep pool underneath the walls in case you fall.

Whitewater Center has outdoor activities that stretch through the 1,300-acre property. This center promotes outdoor activities as an example for people to live a more active, outdoor lifestyle.

    Charlotte is not the 25th largest city in the United States as this article states. It is the 15th largest city according to the 2021 census estimate. Correct your error please.
    Charlotte is about 919,000 population now.
