Barstow is located in San Bernardino County. It is one of the 58 counties found in the state of California. The city is in the Mojave desert, making it a semi-arid region. The city is the perfect base for such a military institution because it has plenty of land and few populated areas. However, it is in the top ten most dangerous cities in the state of California.
