Arnhem

Arnhem is a town in the Netherlands. Known for its industries, Arnhem hosts ship-building yards and factories that manufacture leather materials, chemicals, electrical equipment, and textiles. It is the capital of Gelderland, the eastern province of the Netherlands.

As of 1st January 2019, the city had a population of 159,265 people. Arnhem is a municipality governed by a municipal council and mayor. Due to its location straddling the river Rhine, Arnhem serves as a crucial trade area between Germany and the Netherlands.

Arnhem was the site of a significant battle during the Second World War. The Battle of Arnhem, also known as Operation Market Garden, involved British, American, and Polish military forces seizing bridges in the city.
